Endoscopic third ventriculostomy

Through a nickel-sized opening in the skull, a small endoscope is passed into the spinal fluid containing lateral ventricle inside the brain. A small opening is made, and enlarged with a balloon catheter. This procedure is used to treat obstructive hydrocephalus (water on the brain).
